High-performance slideway oils for machine tools

Shell Tonna S3 M oils were specially developed for the lubrication of machine tool slideways and guideways. They are based on highly refined base oils and contain additives to improve aging stability, corrosion protection, adhesion, and reduce stick-slip. They are particularly recommended for use in high-precision applications at low sliding speeds and combined lubrication systems.

Characteristics

  1. Excellent friction properties
Reduces stick-slip effects for precise positioning at low sliding speeds.

  2. Improved technology
Developed in close cooperation with machine manufacturers.

  3. Good slideway adhesion
High adhesion, resistant to leaching by metalworking oils.

  4. Good separation of cutting oils
Fast and complete separation of water-miscible metalworking fluids.

  5. Excellent wear protection
Protection for slideways, gears, bearings and hydraulic systems.

  6. Effective corrosion protection
Protection even when in contact with water-miscible cutting oils.

Main areas of application

  • Slideways, work tables and feed mechanisms
  • Machine tools with hydraulic systems
  • Gearboxes and spindle boxes
  • Horizontal slideways (ISO VG 32 or 68), vertical slideways (ISO VG 220)
